As this application manages autonomous service robot(s) to disinfect assigned areas, the design has required a deep understanding of the robot’s capabilities (both hardware and software) to create a seamless experience for end users.

During the ideation and research stage, there were several design challenges as this type of work is still new and there haven’t been many use cases online to make a reference. For example, how should I design a mobile interface that enables users to customize the disinfection methods, such as a duration of UV-C light exposure at an assigned area? What type of alerts should users receive, when the robot is stopped in the middle of the disinfection process?

To clarify these questions, I conducted the following design methodologies to validate my research and design decisions with developers, engineers, and healthcare experts.
